Happy New Year!

Well we made it! I survived Dec. 21st, ate my way through Christmas and now all that's left is to ring in the new year! These nails are my favourite for new years. I do them every year!

I started off with a base colour of Sally Hansen Black Out.

Next I used Stripe Rite Turquoise, Misa Nail art What a Wonderful Day, Relax Don't Do It, and Gold rush to make my fireworks! To make them, just make little bursts on your nails. They don't have to be perfect! As you can see I made a mess of my fingers. None of your fireworks should look the same either!

Finally I added Stripe Rite Silver Sparkles and Misa Nail art Viva Las Vegas to add some sparkle, and took Misa Nail art Going Co-co Nut to write 2013!

I wanna wish everyone a Happy New Year! My resolution this year is to try new things, even if they scare me. I'm going into a big career change and I have to be brave and confident!

This is the last post for 2012! See you all on the flip siiiiiide.

Let it Snow!

Sorry this took so long to get up! I worked like crazy the past two weeks, but I promise I'll post at least 2 more after this before christmas!
Here in Ottawa, there's not a lot of snow yet. In hopes of getting more for Christmas, I decided to paint my nails in a "snowy" fashion!

I started off with Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Revlon Waterfall and China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le.

Next I used my Misa Nail art Going Co-co Nut to add snowflakes and the start of my snowmen to my nails. The sparkles I added behind the snowflakes is NYC Starry Silver Glitter.

To add the detail to my snowmen I used Misa Nail Art Point of No Return. For the hats I just used the brush, but for the details of the eyes and mouth I used a toothpick.

And to finish off I used a few other colours to add details to the face. These were very easy to do, you just have to take your time!

And voila! And as I'm writing up this post... It's snowing! What a coincidence!

Hope you're all having a great holiday season so far!

Red and White

Merry Christmas! (or Happy Hanukkah! Or Merry Kwanza?) Which ever you all celebrate happy holidays to you! Now for me, I personally celebrate Christmas. Lets say you have an awesome Christmas party to go to, but you only have two colours of nail polish (RED and WHITE). Well you're half way there!

Here's two different designs I've done (one a little more challenging than the other) using only red and white polish!

For the first one I used Xtreme Wear White Out and Misa Nail Art Sexy Back. These were really easy to do. You can even just do the stripes and they would still look awesome! Nothing like candy cane nails to make your fingers look delicious. These are probably the easiest Christmas nails I'll be doing.
Let's say you want to get a little classier with your red and white polish. For this hand I used OPI Big Apple Red and Misa Nail Art Going Co-Co Nut. The best place to wear these nails? An ugly sweater party to match your ugly sweater! I got so many compliments on these nails, and they really weren't that hard! They just took a little more time and creativity than the others.

And there you have it! Two different designs using ONLY red and white polish. I'll try to be posting more soon, I've just been super busy with both my jobs! But there's definitely more Christmas nails to come! And I'll be doing new years nails at the end of the month.

Thanks for reading! I really appreciate all you guys!

Lots of love & Merry Christmas,

Comic Book

Where has the time gone! 1. I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've posted anything. 2. It's already the end of November! With two jobs now I barely have time to do my nails! So I've been slacking a tad... But starting in December, it'll be a month full of Christmas Nails (I can include Hanukkah, Kwanza and any other holiday, if requested!).

So here's the reason for this post, Comic nails! I started off with Sinful Colours Pink Forever, OPI Fly, Gosh Wild Lilac, New York Colour Lexington Yellow and OPI In My Back Pocket. I drew little speech bubbles and exclamation bursts (... I'm quite creative with names of things...).

Next I used Stripe Rite in white to colour in the speech bubbles/action spurts.

I then took my Stripe Rite in black and wrote some exclamations and symbols (meaning bad words!).

Lastly I used a tooth pick and OPI Alpine Snow to add dots around the speech bubbles and action bursts to make it look like it came out of a comic book!

Finish off with your favourite top coat and VOILA! You've got nails straight out of your favourite comic book.

So I will be posting more! I'll try to get one up a week. On friday I'm going to the JUSTIN BIEBER concert with my bestie Laura, so I'll have an update on how awesome that was next week!

Happy Birthday to Me!

So, today's my birthday!!! I've now left my teen years, and I'm off to adventure through my 20's. And what was the first thing I did this morning? My nails of course! I decided to put some cupcakes on my nails for today's festivities (which included work and dinner...)!

I started off with a base colour of Essie Sand and Tropez.
Next I did the base of the cupcake. For this I used different colours, then added stripes to them. For the base I used: Icing Jaguar, Essence Lime Up!, Essie Mesmorized, OPI The "It" colour and China Glaze Shocking Pink.
For the stripes I used: Revlon Golden, Misa Nail Art Show Me the Greens, Misa Nail Art What a Wonderful Day, Misa Nail Art Crazy Banana, Misa Nail Art Sexy Back.

For the icing I used Revlon Jaded, Sally Hansen Myth, Sally Hansen White Out, Essie Lillacism, and OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle.
For the icing, I just drew little clouds on top of the bases. Don't worry about getting the nail polish on the base because it just looks like the icing is dripping off! (yum, icing!) I also added sprinkles on top... who doesn't LOVE sprinkles!

And finally, for the finishing touches, I added candles! To bring the candles to life I used Stripe Rite Silver Sparkles to make it shine, and added a gem to the top to make it look like it's on fire!
There you go! The best birthday nails! These are even cuter in person.

Thank you for reading everyone! This blog means a lot to me and it couldn't happen with all my viewrs!

LBD

These nails are my version of a "Little Black Dress". They're not your average black nails, but they do look pretty classy.

I took Claires Galaxy and Stripe Rite in Black to do this. Using Galaxy as the base added the sparkle, and then layering the black over top added the class. In person these nails were even better!

These nails were SUPER easy to do, but looked awesome! I applied the black tips like I would regular french tips (which are coming soon!)

Happy Halloween! - Treat

Here's my second part to my Halloween nails! Now to be completely honest I had a different plan but changed it the last minute! So I decided to put two different nails in this post!

First off I did my treat nails. For these I did a ghost, a pumpkin, some candy and of course ombre! One of which was a candy corn ombre, and the other just orange and black!
For my second nail I did something super simple for my "non-ambidextrous" viewers... I know it's hard for some people to do the same design on both hands, so here's a little idea for a very simple, yet awesome nail for halloween!
I used Sally Hansen Black Out and Essie Shine of the times for this. Shine of the Times is definitely one of my favourite polishes because it changes colour depending on what colour your base is!
This nail leaves you with the black base and a sparkly green and orange top! Looks awesome in person!

Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

Halloween Part 1 - Trick?

This is the first of my Halloween nails! I decided to do a split blog based off of "Trick or Treat". I've started off with the Trick nails.

To start I used base colours of OPI Alpine Snow, Essie Sand Tropez, Essence Lime Up!, Sally Hansen Black Out and OPI In My Back Pocket.

Next I used my NEW Misa Nail art Point of No Return and drew outlines of what needed to be black. I started with this first because it was the biggest job.

And finally I used my NEW Misa Nail art in Going Coco-nut to add white details, and then some other colours to finish off my designs!

And there you have it! My "Trick" nails for Halloween! You can see that I really just did "scary" nails, which really didn't end up that scary. In the next few days I'll be posting my "Treat" nails!

Crayons

I did these nails a few weeks ago and completely forgot them on my camera!

These are so simple. I used a ton of colours too so I'll just say that the base colour is Essie Sand and Tropez and you can choose the rest for yourself!

I started off by drawing the outline of the crayon with my Stripe Rite in black. I then coloured the inside with polish, outlined the colour again to clean up the lines and added in a different colour for the wrapper!

These looked really cool, and I got a ton of compliments at work about them!

I think I've got one more post and then we'll be getting into Halloween nails! I'm super excited for them!

Galaxy

So I haven't realized how long it's been since I posted! I went to go download these photos off my camera and I had 3 other nail blogs on it! Jeeze, I have to keep up with myself.

These nails were requested on tumblr, as well as Facebook. I tried doing galaxy nails before but they didn't work out as well as these did!

I started off with one coat of Xtreme Wear Black Out and topped it off with a coat of with Claire's Galaxy. This gave me the effect of stars in the sky. I tried using OPI Metallic 4 Life but the sparkles were too big and chunky. I suggest using small sparkles for this.

To get the illusion of galaxy's I used two different sets of colours. Blue and Purple. For the blues I used L'oreal Club Prive, Revlon Jaded, Stripe Rite in Turquoise and this random dark sparkly blue that has no label. For the purples I used Sally Hansen Rock Bottom, Pure Ice Cheatin, China Glaze Spontaneous and OPI Panda-monium Pink.
To apply the polish I used a make up sponge and dabbed on the colours lightest to darkest, focusing on a light point on the nail.

Then I took my Stripe Rite in Silver and White to add bigger stars. I only added a few of these because I didn't want to overwhelm my nails! For the white ones I added little arms to make them look like they're sparkling in the night sky.

Top it with your favourite top coat and voila! These were definitely my favourite nails, they looked so cool when they were done!

Also recently I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought Pure Acetone. It works SO much better than just nail polish remover and is also amazing when cleaning up your creation!

Peanut M&M's

This is just going to be a little post. I got some requests to do M&M nails! My favourite M&M's are peanut. Not sure why, I just absolutely love them!

These were so easy to do. I used Essie Mesmerized, OPI The "It" colour, OPI Don't Mess With OPI, OPI Big Apple Red and OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle. With my base colours on I used my Stripe Rite nail art in white and drew little m's on my nails.

There you go! These were so easy and they look super cute! I also got a TON of compliments on them because they are so recognizable! Good luck!

Autumn

I think my favourite season would have to be fall. The crisp air, the leaves changing. I decided to incorporate the beautiful colours of autumn into my nails!

This was a very simple nail to do, I took my tie-dye technique, but used fall colours like OPI Big Apple Red, OPI In My Back Pocket, OPI The "It" Colour, OPI Don't Mess With OPI and OPI A-Taupe the space needle as my tie-dye colours. I used Essie Sand and Tropez as the base.

I then took my Stripe Rite nail art in black and painted on different types of leaves.

I was inspired by the leaves changing around my house. Here are some photos of what fall looks like where I am (Ottawa, Canada). I know these aren't nail photo's... but I can't help but love the colours!

Harry Potter

I've gotten a few requests for Harry Potter nails! From friends, facebook and tumblr. SO HERE THEY ARE! I do apologize in advance for the messy nails, because I forgot to clean them off before I took the photo... my bad. But I hope you enjoy!

I did my two hands differently. On my left hand I did the Gryffindor and Slytherin house colours, Harry Potter, the three rings to play a game of quidditch and the Faux. I must say I'm pretty proud of my pheonix, it took me a while to do!

To do Faux, I first outlined him in the red and added yellow and orange feathers. Then I used gold and glitter to make it look like he's flying from the fire! For the background of the rings I used the ombre method to make it look like a moutain view.

On my right hand I did the house colours of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, Ron, Hermione and the deathly hallows. I did the easier ones on my right hand because I knew that my left hand isn't the steadiest at drawing.

That's that! I hope you guys enjoy this post! I've got a few little posts this week so keep checking back!

Peter Pan

This is one of my requests from Tumblr! It was requested by tinymscbx. To be completely honest, I haven't watched Peter Pan in FOREVER, so I had to think about this one for a while.

I started off with Essie Sand Tropez on my thumb and pinky finger, NYC Colour Starry Silver Glitter on my pointer, Essie Mesmorized/Xtreme Wear Black Out on my middle finger, and OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle on my ring finger.

Next I added the details to the nails. On my thumb I drew Captain Hooks hook. I kept the sparkles plain on my pointer finger to resemble Tinkerbell's fairy dust. I started to draw the moon on my middle finger, and on my pinky, I drew Peter Pan's iconic hat.

For my ring finger, I decided to do alligator print. To do this I took a loofah from my shower and stuck my finger in it. Then I took a make up sponge and blotted on OPI Don't Mess With OPI and Sally Hansen HD 04. When you take the loofah off, you get a alligator pattern!

To finish off, I outlined the drawings in black and added the black outlines on my middle finger. Topped it off with my favourite top coat and voila!

There you have it! Hope this post is all you hoped for tinymscbx! Thanks for reading!

Sunflowers

Hey guys! I'm so sorry about not posting lately, I'm kinda in a nail rut :/ With everyone giving me ideas, it's really just getting off my butt to do them! This is a request from my wonderful bestie Laura!

I started off with one of my newest colours Sinful Colours Pink Forever. This definitely has to be my new favourite pink. It's bright, girly and oh so perfect.

To start the petals of the sunflower I took OPI The "It" Colour and a toothpick. Sunflowers are huge flowers with giant petals, so you don't have to worry about  being delicate or careful. Plus you're going to be adding another colour on top!

I decided to create definition between the rows of petals by using two different yellows. The next colour I used was NYC Lexington Yellow.

Finishing off the petals, I added two more rows, one of each colour. Now your nails might start looking a little messy, but I promise the finished product looks great!

For the center of the sunflower I started off with OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle. For this I used a q-tip to apply the colour onto my nails.

To finish off I added detail of Essie Sand Tropez and Stripe Rite black. Sealed it with a top coat and voila! You've got yourself some sunflower fingers :)

I promise I'll have more posts up soon! With thanksgiving, halloween and christmas around the corner there will definitely be a lot of themed posts. But don't forget I'm always taking requests.

You've Got a Friend In Me

To be completely honest I'm a huge pixar junkie... and thanks to arystar on Tumblr, I finally got around to doing pixar nails!

I started off with OPI The "It" Colour, OPI Alpine Snow, Xtreme Wear Gun Metal and OPI Big Apple Red on my left hand.

On my right hand I used OPI Alpine Snow, Revlon Garden, Rimmel London Grey Scale, and Essie Mesmorized.

On my left hand I did the Pixar ball, Monsters Inc., Cars, Wall-e and The Incredibles. These are all the symbols from the movie, I looked at a photo and copied them!

And for my right hand I put the Pixar mascot on my thumb, followed by A Bug's Life, Up, Finding Nemo and Toy Story.

*I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE IMAGES ON MY NAILS*

Just throwing that in as a safety precaution!

My favourite Pixar movie is definitely Finding Nemo, but being honest I love them all too much! I hope this is a good template for you guys for your nails!
