Euro 2012

Well since the Italians just beat out the English in the quarter finals today, I decided to do Euro 2012 Nails!

These were really simple. I just did the flags of each of the quarter finalists. Flags are probably the easiest things to do because they're usually only two or three colours!

On my left had I did Portugal, Greece, Germany and Czech Republic. On my right I did Italy, Spain, England and France!

Again, these are so simple! Probably the easiest nails I've done :)

Enjoy and get ready for the semi finals!

Convocation 2012!

So that's it! I'm officially done college. It's pretty weird and still hasn't hit me yet. Of course for graduation I had to have some awesome nails!

I decided to mimic the design on my dress! It was very simple and only took a few step!

First I started off with a base colour of OPI I Vant to be A-Lone Star. I then took my handy dandy tooth pick and added a few dots of Revlon Waterfall.

Next I mixed X-treme Wear Black Out and Rimmel Grey Matter together to make a dark grey. I added that to my nails with the tooth pick. I started to create really abstract flowers like in my dress.

I then took OPI Panda-monium Pink, Misa Nail art Relax Don't do It, and Stripe Rite in teal to finish off the different colours of the flowers.

And there you go! This is really easy to do, and they can also double as fireworks!

My nails matched my dress perfectly!

I must say that the best part of the day for me was when after crossing the stage you walked through the hall and got your photo taken and your diploma. Before walking back out to your seat you were "welcomed to the alumni". For some reason when that happened, it felt really real. And I felt extremely proud of myself for finishing my education. I'd like to thank everyone who made it possible, and who made these two years two of the best two years of my life!

LA Kings

So after months, or what seems to be years, of this years stanley cup play offs, the LA Kings pulled through and won the cup! My friend Laura Monette requested these nails in celebration!

I used OPI Alpine Snow, Gosh , X-treme wear Black Out, Misa Nail art D'girls best friend, Misa nail art Gold Rush, Misa Nail art Viva las vegas and Stripe rite in black and silver.

I didn't do a full post on these because they're fairly simple. Just basic drawings on the colours :)

Enjoy!

Gotta Catch 'em All!

So this is a request post! My friend Scott Norris requested these a few weeks ago. If you haven't already realized from the title what these are... well you need to go back to the 90's.

So first off I started with my base colours. Each nail is a differnt colour because each pokemon is different!
I used: OPI Alpine Snow, Misa Nail art Crazy Banana, China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le, OPI In my Back Pocket, and Sinful Colours Rise and Shine.

Next I started to add the detail. I put red (OPI Big Apple Red) on my thumb for the pokeball. And I did the black (Stripe Rite nail art) and white (OPI Alpine snow) details on the faces for the eyes. As you can see I'm painting Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur. None of that new pokemon crap... Original 151 is where it's at.

Last I added the details to the eyes and a little bit of colour on the faces :) The I finished with my favourite top coat!

Enjoy! I hope these bring out the kid in everyone.

Pretty in Pastels

These nails are perfect for a romantic night out, or a long stroll through the park on a sunny day! Make sure you've got a pile of tooth picks handy, you're going to need them for this!

For the base colour I used Revlon 320 Jaded. This is the perfect mint green I think. It's not too light, but looks perfect!

Next I used my Stripe Rite White nail art polish brush to add strips and polka dots. To make the polka dots, I used a tooth pick. You're going to be using a lot of tooth picks from here out!

Now starting with another tooth pick, I used OPI You're a Pisa Work to start making the roses. They don't have to be perfect what so ever. Draw small petal shapes in little bunches. Be as messy as you want with these. No flower is the same so just have fun!

These flowers have three layers to them. The second is Tip Toe Nail Polish Shot of Love. Continue doing the same dotting techniques for this colour. You want to fill in all the empty spots on your flowers with this colour. You're now starting to see the roses come to life!

The last colour I used for the roses is OPI Panda-monium Pink. Use this colour sparingly, it's main use is to highlight the rose.

And you want to finish off your roses with leaves of course! For these I used two colours. The first is Misa Nail Art Show me the Greens. Using another tooth pick, draw small leaves around the flowers. I also drew a stem on the big one.

To add definition to the leaves I used Revlon Garden. Use this colour sparingly as well. Just add small dots to the leaves.

Finish off with a top coat and you're done! These nails were really fun to do and I got a ton of compliments on them! They don't take a lot of practice because your flowers will look good no matter what!

Sour Watermelons

Hoping that the weather will warm up again, here's a DIY of how to do watermelons on your nails! Nothing says summer like a big juicy watermelon.

First I started off with a base colour of OPI You're a Pisa Work. It's the perfect pink for this.

Next I added OPI Alpine Snow to the tips of my nails. Apply this as you would apply a french manicure. As you can see this is starting to get messy. So make sure you have a good supply of q-tips and nail polish remover for when you're finished!

After adding the white, I used my Revlon Garden nail polish. I added this on top of the white, but made sure a little bit of the white was still showing (this is the rind of the watermelon).

After the green is added I took a dark green, Misa Nail Art Show me the greens, and added small lines on to the tips of my nails. This made my tips look like the outside of a watermelon.

And finally you want to end with your seeds! I used my Stripe Right nail art brush in black to add small dots to add the seeds to my watermelons.

To finish it off add your favourite top coat and voila! Perfect watermelons for that hot summer day.

Thanks for reading! Hope you find this helpful, I want to see all your nails too!
