Happy Halloween! - Treat

Here's my second part to my Halloween nails! Now to be completely honest I had a different plan but changed it the last minute! So I decided to put two different nails in this post!

First off I did my treat nails. For these I did a ghost, a pumpkin, some candy and of course ombre! One of which was a candy corn ombre, and the other just orange and black!
For my second nail I did something super simple for my "non-ambidextrous" viewers... I know it's hard for some people to do the same design on both hands, so here's a little idea for a very simple, yet awesome nail for halloween!
I used Sally Hansen Black Out and Essie Shine of the times for this. Shine of the Times is definitely one of my favourite polishes because it changes colour depending on what colour your base is!
This nail leaves you with the black base and a sparkly green and orange top! Looks awesome in person!

Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

Halloween Part 1 - Trick?

This is the first of my Halloween nails! I decided to do a split blog based off of "Trick or Treat". I've started off with the Trick nails.

To start I used base colours of OPI Alpine Snow, Essie Sand Tropez, Essence Lime Up!, Sally Hansen Black Out and OPI In My Back Pocket.

Next I used my NEW Misa Nail art Point of No Return and drew outlines of what needed to be black. I started with this first because it was the biggest job.

And finally I used my NEW Misa Nail art in Going Coco-nut to add white details, and then some other colours to finish off my designs!

And there you have it! My "Trick" nails for Halloween! You can see that I really just did "scary" nails, which really didn't end up that scary. In the next few days I'll be posting my "Treat" nails!

Crayons

I did these nails a few weeks ago and completely forgot them on my camera!

These are so simple. I used a ton of colours too so I'll just say that the base colour is Essie Sand and Tropez and you can choose the rest for yourself!

I started off by drawing the outline of the crayon with my Stripe Rite in black. I then coloured the inside with polish, outlined the colour again to clean up the lines and added in a different colour for the wrapper!

These looked really cool, and I got a ton of compliments at work about them!

I think I've got one more post and then we'll be getting into Halloween nails! I'm super excited for them!

Galaxy

So I haven't realized how long it's been since I posted! I went to go download these photos off my camera and I had 3 other nail blogs on it! Jeeze, I have to keep up with myself.

These nails were requested on tumblr, as well as Facebook. I tried doing galaxy nails before but they didn't work out as well as these did!

I started off with one coat of Xtreme Wear Black Out and topped it off with a coat of with Claire's Galaxy. This gave me the effect of stars in the sky. I tried using OPI Metallic 4 Life but the sparkles were too big and chunky. I suggest using small sparkles for this.

To get the illusion of galaxy's I used two different sets of colours. Blue and Purple. For the blues I used L'oreal Club Prive, Revlon Jaded, Stripe Rite in Turquoise and this random dark sparkly blue that has no label. For the purples I used Sally Hansen Rock Bottom, Pure Ice Cheatin, China Glaze Spontaneous and OPI Panda-monium Pink.
To apply the polish I used a make up sponge and dabbed on the colours lightest to darkest, focusing on a light point on the nail.

Then I took my Stripe Rite in Silver and White to add bigger stars. I only added a few of these because I didn't want to overwhelm my nails! For the white ones I added little arms to make them look like they're sparkling in the night sky.

Top it with your favourite top coat and voila! These were definitely my favourite nails, they looked so cool when they were done!

Also recently I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought Pure Acetone. It works SO much better than just nail polish remover and is also amazing when cleaning up your creation!

Peanut M&M's

This is just going to be a little post. I got some requests to do M&M nails! My favourite M&M's are peanut. Not sure why, I just absolutely love them!

These were so easy to do. I used Essie Mesmerized, OPI The "It" colour, OPI Don't Mess With OPI, OPI Big Apple Red and OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle. With my base colours on I used my Stripe Rite nail art in white and drew little m's on my nails.

There you go! These were so easy and they look super cute! I also got a TON of compliments on them because they are so recognizable! Good luck!

Autumn

I think my favourite season would have to be fall. The crisp air, the leaves changing. I decided to incorporate the beautiful colours of autumn into my nails!

This was a very simple nail to do, I took my tie-dye technique, but used fall colours like OPI Big Apple Red, OPI In My Back Pocket, OPI The "It" Colour, OPI Don't Mess With OPI and OPI A-Taupe the space needle as my tie-dye colours. I used Essie Sand and Tropez as the base.

I then took my Stripe Rite nail art in black and painted on different types of leaves.

I was inspired by the leaves changing around my house. Here are some photos of what fall looks like where I am (Ottawa, Canada). I know these aren't nail photo's... but I can't help but love the colours!
