Sparkle into Spring!

So here's my ever so long waited post about sparkle ombre! I've finally had time to myself and I've been able to do my nails!

So lets start! First you have to choose your colours. For this time around I chose to use ONLY purple sparkles and let my natural nail come through the bottom. But I did decide to use two types of purple sparkles.

Step 1:

After applying the all important base coat to your nails, start by swiping on a coat of sparkles. DO NOT put sparkles on the entire nail! I usually start from about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way down. This is the start of your ombre. There are a lot of steps in this process!

Step 2:

Next I took my second shade of purple sparkles and added a more concentrated layer. This time I started a few millimeters from where I started the first time, creating the "faded" look.

Step 3:

Add another coat of sparkles. This time going about 1/3 of the way down your nails. As you can see by the 3rd coat the ombre really starts to show. You'll want to let your nails dry for about 10-15 minutes between coats or else when you have to pee right after you paint them, they'll smudge.

Step 4:

To finish off your ombre nails add one more thick layer of sparkles right at the tips of your nails like you're applying a french maincure. Top it off with your favourite top coat and away you go!

Don't be afraid to mix and match colours! Do a red nail with gold sparkles, or a blue nail with silver! No colour combination is wrong when it comes to glitter ;)

Next post I think I'm going to attempt how to ombre between two colours... Wish me luck! And thanks for reading!

Lots of Love,

Mackenzie :)
